I'm laughing at myself right now... I love to teach all the way around the mat and have used some clever ways to get to the other leg, but I have never just switched legs!!! So elegant. (I do have a tendency to find the complicated path between to points.... )

Greetings Fellow Yoga Human - I currently inhabit an older body and teach chair yoga to anyone who will sit for it, so I don't find many of your comments relevant - but then some do poke through and that is why I continue to read & enjoy your posts. Thank you for having the writing desire & talent that benefit so many of us in cyber space that would never get a chance to network with other yoga humans without this wonderful internet opportunity. Nancy, thank you for saying hello! Yes, my style at this age (31!) and time in my life is pretty "flowy" – but I imagine at some point in time that will shift. :) I'm glad there are still some nuggets that you find useful. This was incredibly helpful! This is my first time saying hello as well though I've been reading your posts since I got my 200 hr training last June. I started out teaching both virtual and in person at the same time (challenging) and have since decided to do one or the other. Thank you for all that you offer to the yoga community, super helpful for a beginner teacher trying to develop confidence, skills and relax all at the same time.

Thank you for that I definitely will. I used to be a dancer in my 20's and 30's and I love your flows because they're so dancy. I'm sure in person you probably do them a little slower!! Very creative and fun! Thanks again!

I have just finished my YTT200 hr training, and I really love practising yoga. I have only started teaching 1 yoga class for my friend, mainly vinyasa flow. Any tips on how to continue teaching class, should I stay with the same flow in the beginning, or create other flows? Also, should I recruit friends with similar level in the beginning so as to make teaching easier? I mean I am a bit lost, would like to try out but not very confident. Any advice?

Hi Fifi! Congratulations on finishing your training! I know the experience — when I graduated, I didn’t feel super confident about teaching, but my best advice is that you learn by doing, so if you want to teach, then keeping putting yourself out there. Teaching to friends is great. Another tip is to start by teaching simple flows and traditional structures (centering, sun As, sun Bs, standing postures, etc.), and then progress into creative sequencing from there. It's another mandala flow – you could consider it a “level up” from this initial flow – meaning it builds on the base of the first flow. You’ll also notice more challenging postures and transitions. I just posted it! Thank you for the comment because it reminded me to do so! :)
